An expansive space that will straddle LAβs famed Wilshire Boulevard, the project will feature 110,000 square feet of gallery space in one single level to display and present art in a non-hierarchical, egalitarian way. As part of the new building, Clark will construct a new theater, education spaces, three restaurants, a museum shop, multi-purpose event spaces, and ancillary and back-of-house facilities.
The California Building for the Permanent Collection is slated to open to the public in 2024.

FLOATING PUMP
For this job, MINING MART was tasked with designing a floating pump setup from scratch. Using a mix of reference drawings and site snaps, we crafted a solid, compliant structure that could cop the real-world conditions without breaking a sweat. It was all about smart design, Aussie standards, and working closely with the client every step of the way.
What Went Down
- Design from the Ground Up: Kicked off the concept in SolidWorks, crafting the full pump structure with flexibility and precision.
- Standards-Driven Engineering: Stuck to Australian pipe standards and crunched the numbers to make sure the design could handle the load.
- Back-and-Forth with the Client: Worked closely with the client, adjusting the design as needed to meet evolving site needs.
- Strength Where It Counts: Added gussets in high-stress spots to beef up the durability and handle the heavy work.
- Final Design, Ready to Roll: Once all checks were done and dusted, we released the final drawings for fabrication and install.
