Gearbox Frame – Ora Banda

An expansive space that will straddle LA’s famed Wilshire Boulevard, the project will feature 110,000 square feet of gallery space in one single level to display and present art in a non-hierarchical, egalitarian way. As part of the new building, Clark will construct a new theater, education spaces, three restaurants, a museum shop, multi-purpose event spaces, and ancillary and back-of-house facilities.

The California Building for the Permanent Collection is slated to open to the public in 2024.

Gearbox Frame – Ora Banda

At MINING MART, we tackled the Gearbox Frame design using cutting-edge tech and real-world site data. With point cloud scans and site snaps as our starting point, we rolled up our sleeves and got cracking on a rock-solid design solution.

What We Did

  • Scan & Reference Creation: First up, we processed the scan data in GEOMAGIC DESIGN X, aligning everything to get a proper reference sketch. This step set the foundation for an accurate frame build.
  • 3D Modelling in SOLIDWORKS: Using the reference data, we designed the Gearbox Frame in SOLIDWORKS, making sure every detail complied with Aussie standards.
  • Clarification Document: To keep things crystal clear, we put together a clarification document, ironing out any potential queries before jumping into the fabrication stage.
  • Fabrication Drawings: Once everything was green-lit, we cracked on with the fabrication drawings, ensuring seamless manufacturing.
  • Structural Strength Enhancements: Since site conditions called for extra reinforcement, we incorporated additional stiffeners to boost the frame’s durability and reliability.

With this custom-engineered frame, the client gets a strong, reliable, and compliant solution, ready to handle the rough and tough mining environment.
