An expansive space that will straddle LA’s famed Wilshire Boulevard, the project will feature 110,000 square feet of gallery space in one single level to display and present art in a non-hierarchical, egalitarian way. As part of the new building, Clark will construct a new theater, education spaces, three restaurants, a museum shop, multi-purpose event spaces, and ancillary and back-of-house facilities.
The California Building for the Permanent Collection is slated to open to the public in 2024.

UNDERGROUND PULLEY
At MINING MART, we tackled the Underground Pulley project, engineering a solid pulley frame using point cloud data, reference drawings, and site images.
How We Got It Done
- Data Processing & Cleanup: We kicked off by aligning the point cloud data in Geomagic Design X, clearing out any unnecessary bits to get a clean and accurate base to work with.
- Measurements & Problem-Solving: With the data sorted, we took precise measurements and spotted a few issues that needed fixing before jumping into the design phase—no room for dodgy work here!
- Frame Design in SolidWorks: We then designed the pulley frame in SOLIDWORKS, making sure to add stiffeners for extra strength and keep every dimension spot-on according to the reference drawings.
- Accuracy Check & Final Touches: To wrap it all up, we compared the 3D model with the point cloud data to guarantee everything lined up perfectly.
This job was all about precision and durability, making sure the pulley frame could handle the tough underground conditions without a hitch. Another rock-solid solution, built tough and done right!
