Focus Minerals – Tailing Pump Reverse Engineering of Pipe Spool & Rubber Lining

Overview

Focus Minerals came to us for a critical job: reverse engineering the pipe spools and rubber lining for their tailing pumps. We kicked off the project using a laser scanner to grab all the site data, which came through in e57 format. This data was then imported into our Reverse Engineering Software for processing, where we enhanced the quality and alignment of the information. After that, we got down to extracting dimensions using Sketch with Mesh.

The Process

With the scan data sorted, we locked in the axis of the pipeline and pinpointed all the necessary positions. The pipeline and flanges were designed to meet Australian standards, and we ensured the pipe spool included the required rubber lining. Once the design was finalized, we supplied a full rundown of pipe sizes, a Bill of Materials (BOM), and the specific dimensions for the rubber lining.

Outcome

We delivered a solid design for the pipe spools, complete with rubber lining specifications. All the required pipe sizes, BOM, and rubber lining dimensions were provided, ensuring a hassle-free process for fabrication and installation. Focus Minerals is now set to keep their tailing pumps running smoothly and efficiently!
