Overview
Focus Minerals hit us up for a top job β reverse engineering the pipe spools and rubber lining for their mill discharge pumps. We kicked things off with a laser scan, gathering all the data in e57 format. That got chucked into our Reverse Engineering Software, where we cleaned it up and made sure everything lined up. From there, we pulled out the key dimensions using Sketch with Mesh.
The Process
With the scan data in hand, we mapped out the pipeline axis and nailed down all the positions. The pipeline and flanges were designed in line with Australian standards, and since the spool needed a rubber lining, we factored that in too. After locking in the design, we handed over the full set of pipe sizes, a Bill of Materials (BOM), and the rubber lining dimensions.
Outcome
Weβve delivered a bang-on design for the pipe spools, complete with rubber lining specs. All the pipe sizes, BOM, and rubber lining dimensions are ready to go, making fabrication and installation smooth sailing for the Focus Minerals team. This systemβs built tough and ready for action!
