Reverse Engineering
Underground Pulley
Western Australia·2025
01
Challenge
An underground pulley required reverse engineering to produce replacement fabrication and machining drawings where original documentation was unavailable.
02
Approach
We laser scanned the pulley to capture its exact geometry, then reverse engineered the component to produce accurate manufacturing drawings.
03
Engineering Process
- 13D laser scan of the underground pulley
- 2Reverse engineering from point cloud data
- 33D model reconstruction
- 4Manufacturing and machining drawings
04
Deliverables
- Reverse-engineered 3D model
- Manufacturing drawings
- Machining drawings
05
Outcome
The pulley was reverse engineered and documented, enabling the production of a replacement component without original drawings.
